Uses for your sunroom
Sunrooms can be versatile additions to your home in that they can be for many different purposes.
- Breakfast Room
- An East facing sunroom is an ideal place to sit and have breakfast and maybe read the newspaper early in the morning surrounded by your garden but in the comfort of your home.
- Sitting Room
- The sunroom can be a place to relax and enjoy the scenery whilst maybe reading a book, having fun with your family or even just watching TV.
- Dining Room
- A West facing sunroom will get the sun for most of the afternoon and early evening and can make (providing it doesn't get too hot) an excellent dining room. If you plan on dining once it has got dark you may want to consider having some blinds to give some privacy especially if the sunroom is overlooked.
- Bathroom
- Perhaps its a little odd but yes a sunroom could indeed be a place to site your bathroom. I can't imagine a toilet in there though!
- Hot tub/Spa room
- Really a great place to put a hot tub or spa room. Open up the French doors and windows on hot day or sit there warm and relaxed on a cold winters day with snow in the garden.
- Gymnasium
- Here you can work out enjoying the sun and your garden. To really get a good sweat on try working out on a hot day or evening doing a vigorous cardiovascular exercise (consult Doctors first!) such as spinning or rowing.
- Hobby/Reading room
- Sunrooms can be so tranquil and different from the rest of the house that they can make ideal get aways to read your books or enjoy your hobbies.
- Artist Studio
- Good light, peaceful for concentration and some scenery out of the window, say no more really.
- Pool room
- Needs some considerations in the design but would be worth the effort.
- Games Room
- Always fancied having a pool table or maybe somewhere to play those family games? Well here could be your answer.
- Music Room
- Can have good sound insulation from the rest of the house and is somewhere where you can concentrate.
and finally
- Office
- Quiet, light with something to look at through the window. Probably not ideal if you have small children running round the garden sticking their faces against the glass. Trust me: I love working in my sunroom (when its not too hot) but just as I can see out they can see me working inside!
